The Question

One of the most frequent questions I’ve been asked since I came to the United States was why I chose New Orleans. At the time I don’t think I had any idea why, except that I had a work duty to fulfill. I believe that each place teaches us something, somehow it opens a new window in our soul through which we can see the world differently from what we were used  before. For me New Orleans it’s been a ride where unexpected things had happen and life took unplanned turns. And now when I look back, I know that  without  New Orleans none of these changes would have had been possible.

So at this time if you ask me why New Orleans my answer is :

New Orleans because of its beautiful historical French Quarter where you can get lost among its small streets while admiring the antique, vintage, and art shops.
New Orleans because of the music on its streets.
New Orleans because of its amazing food, small restaurants, and classy wine bars uptown. While there are lots and lots of restaurants, cafes, and bars I will specify just few of my favorites.
The Tasting Room is a quiet and romantic Wine Lounge, perfect for a date night or a BFF talk over a glass of wine.
Delachaise is another place that I absolutely love. Besides their joyful atmosphere they serve the most tasty steak bruschettas I have ever tried. This place is  perfect for a friends dinner night out  as well as for a romantic one.
When it comes to Baru Tapas, I don’t know what I prefer more about this place its choice of wine, its small plates, or its second store patio… I guess the opportunity to enjoy it all at the same time 🙂
Cafe Avenue is one of the good places to grab a coffee and a healthy snack. Peche Seafood Grill,  Jacques  Imo’s Cafe, and La Crepe Nanou are just some of the many restaurants that serve delicious food. There are so many more places for gourmands to appreciate that I think one of my next post will include a list of restaurants worth trying.

New Orleans because of its  culture and history that the city is full of. You can almost feel the spirit of the past generations  while walking  on the  streets. The old buildings with their unique style can easily transform your imagination in a playground where there is no time frame.
New Orleans because of its good and friendly people, who make this city priceless. There is nothing more valuable in this world than a good soul, and in New Orleans I’ve met more than one. A special thank you goes to Yasmine Davis,  who helped me with pictures and good blogging advises 🙂
I’ve moved on and left the city, but a part of me will always be lost somewhere among the streets of New Orleans.
So Why New Orleans?  Because New Orleans has it all ….including killer summer weather  😀
I wish you all a great day and see you soon,
