A bit about everything

February 26, 2017

Hello dear friends,

I am blogging for a while now, and it warms my heart seeing you reading my posts. I can not express enough my gratitude to you and the happiness you bring to me. Also, I have great news to share with you: this year the blog reached people on every continent, and this is a reason to celebrate, isn’t it ? So, I can’t say anything else than thank you, thank you, and thank you!

I realized that I didn’t share much about myself, except my travels. So, in this post I will introduce myself to you and answer few questions that you might have.

Who am I?

Well, as you already know, my name is Victoria. I identify myself as a woman, friend, wife, sister, daughter, blogger, traveler, a romantic soul, and a hopeless dreamer.

Where am I from?

I am original from Republic of Moldova. And before you ask if this is Russia,  let me answer it for you. Moldova is an independent country in Eastern Europe, and indeed was part of USSR. While I have endless love for Russia and its people, and I have many Russian friends, Moldova is not in Russia. Now, most likely you are thinking where is that on the map? Well, its the highlighted  “giant” over here:)

I grew up in the north of the country in a city named Soroca, which is known to have one of the oldest medieval fortresses in Europe, has great history, and beautiful scenery.

Where did I live apart my country of origin ?

My love for travel started way before I could actually do it. As a child, and even teenager, I didn’t really know, nor had any solid plans on how to fulfill my travel wanderlust, but I always knew that I will do it no matter what life throws at me, or what others might say, or think. Told you, I am a stubborn dreamer. For me, moving from one place to another is not running from something, but rather running towards something. And this something is knowledge, is adventure, is learning other peoples ways of living, is distorting prejudice and stereotypes, is freedom of spirit. My life abroad started with a three months training in Greece, then continued with about two years in Belgium. After, I decided to move to USA where I had the opportunity to live a year and a half in New Orleans,  Louisiana, and then I moved for love to Alaska where I spent a wonderful year.  Next was France, Paris.

Where am I living now?

In France I moved less than a year ago. I can’t say that after living in US I don’t experience a reverse cultural shock; however, this country has been good to me and I am eager to discover more of it. I am lucky to have the opportunity to add this amazing country on”my homes” list.

What is my next destination?

I don’t have any plans to move anywhere else, yet 🙂 France is going to be my home for a while. However, traveling is not going to stop. Wait for surprises, they are coming soon.

How do I spend my time?

Between family, full time job, and blogging I don’ t have much time for something else. That would be a perfect answer, I guess. But this post is not about being perfect but about being honest, so the truth is that there are days when I am doing completely nothing and enjoying being lazy. Some other days, I like to read. Also, I enjoy cooking, I do have a full time job, and I like movies. Photography is another pleasure of mine that I should practice more often. If only the day would have 48 hrs, right?

See you soon, darlings !

You are right, it does require lots of planning and prep; however, the experience is worth it. Wish you the best as well and thank you for stopping by.
